Convenor: Prof. J.L. Fiadeiro
In weeks 1-4 of the semester, students attend a series of 4 seminars by selected speakers (which can be either internal and external) and are given papers/software to study that are related to the themes covered by the seminars.
The students are then divided into groups each of which is associated with one of the seminars and the related papers/software.
In weeks 5-8 the groups discuss the material from the seminars and the papers/software; these discussions will be moderated by members of staff in each group, thereby encouraging group learning.
In weeks 9-12 each group is required to prepare a collective essay of about 3,000 words based on the seminar, papers/software and the group sessions.
