Generalized Tetrahedron Groups

Source of Funding: London Mathematical Society
Amount: £300
Duration: January 1999 - June 1999
Principal Investigators: Prof. Rick Thomas, Dr. Martin Edjvet (University of Nottingham), Prof. Gerhard Rosenberger (University of Dortmund, Germany)

The purpose of this project is to investigate the generalized tetrahedron groups which are groups defined by a certain class of presentations. The origins of this study go back to pioneering work of Coxeter in the 1930's and the principal question we are concerned with here is that of determining precisely which of these presentations define finite groups.
