Dove Dale in Peak District

March 3, 2001

Highlight of this non-birding excursion was a small bat. It was flying in full day light around noon. The weather was fresh, the ground was still frozen, but the sunlight had strength and felt warm.

And so far it is the only place in Britain where I have seen Nuthatches.

  1. Wood Nuthatch Sitta europaea
  2. Common Raven Corvus corax: 2 possible ravens flying around (tail and call, but observation too short to be really sure)
