Walk: Mountsorrel to Watermead. Nice weather warm and sunny weather. Below an incomplete list of birds seen near Cossington Gravelpits:

  2. Common Sandpiper Actitis hypoleucos
  3. Common Kestrel Falco tinnunculus
    4. two families with 2 or 3 young.
  4. Stock Pigeon Columba oenas
  5. Common Wood Pigeon Columba palumbus
  6. European Turtle Dove Streptopelia turtur
    7. 1 or 2 on top of willow tree and blackthorns.
  7. Sky Lark Alauda arvensis
  8. Mistle Thrush Turdus viscivorus
  9. Common Chiffchaff Phylloscopus collybita
  10. European Greenfinch Carduelis chloris
  11. European Goldfinch Carduelis carduelis
  12. Yellowhammer Emberiza citrinella
