About

I am a PhD student in the Computer Science Department. My supervisor is Irek Ulidowski. I started my PhD in November 2013. I am funded by the department via a Graduate Teaching Assistant position.

If you want to know more about me, you can view my linkedin.

Research

My research is about the application of process calculi to biologicial and chemical systems. What we can learn from these systems for distributed computing is another aspect of my work. My APG seminar slides give an idea of my (still evolving) research area.

Teaching

I have a keen interest in teaching and have been teaching in the past at Universität zu Köln, FernUniversität Hagen and De Montfort University. As part of my GTA job, I assisted with teaching the following modules at Leicester University:

  • Year 2013/2014
  • CO3098 Web Technologies, CO1016 Computer Systems, CO3090 Distributed Systems and Applications, CO7101 Java and Databases for Bioinformaticians
  • Year 2014/2015
  • CO1008 Requirements Engineering and Professional Practice, CO3098 Web Technologies, CO1016 Computer Systems, CO3090 Distributed Systems and Applications, CO7101 Java and Databases for Bioinformaticians, CP7216 Semantic Web

Other Activities

I have been working on various chemoinformatics projects including the Chemistry Development Kit, Bioclipse and JChemPaint. I maintain nmrshiftdb2.
