I received my BSc and MSc degrees in Automatic Control from Department of Automatic Control, Northeastern University, P. R. China in July 1993 and March 1996 respectively and my PhD degree in Systems Engineering from Department of Systems Engineering, Northeastern University, P. R. China in March 1999 (PhD thesis: "Constraint Satisfaction Adaptive Neural Network and its Applications for Job-Shop Scheduling Problems").

I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Department of Computer Science, King's College London from October 1999 to October 2000, as a member of the Algorithm Design Group of the department. In November 2000, I was appointed to a Lecturership at Department of Computer Science, University of Leicester.

Since 1st July, 2010, I have moved to the Department of Information Systems and Computing, Brunel University, Uxbridge UB8 3PH, UK. My new home page can be found here.
