Instructions for Authors

Manuscripts should be up to 8 pages long and must be received no later than 1 April 2005. Electronic submission in either PostScript or PDF format is highly encouraged. Please send your electronic submission to Shengxiang Yang at s.yang@mcs.le.ac.uk or Jürgen Branke at branke@aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de. In case you can not submit electronically, please contact one of the workshop chairs. The format of the paper should adhere to the standard GECCO style. Formatting instructions can be found at http://www.isgec.org/gecco-2005/submitting.html.

The paper will be reviewed by members of the program committee. Authors will be notified via email on the results of the review by 20 April 2005. Authors of accepted papers will have to improve their paper on the basis of the reviewers' comments and will be asked to send a camera-ready version of their manuscripts by 29 April 2005. By submitting a camera-ready paper, the author(s) agree that at least one author will attend and present the paper at the workshop.

Accepted papers will be included in the GECCO-2005 workshop proceedings. The workshop proceedings are published not only on a CD (which is given to all attendees of GECCO), but the workshop papers are also published in the ACM digital library (with an own ISBN-number). This will increase the visibility of the work presented in the workshop. However, to get the workshop papers published in the ACM digital library, the workshop authors have to sign an ACM copyright form. Only papers with a signed copyright form can be published in the digital library and on the GECCO workshop CD. If the authors do not (want to) sign the copyright form, their work can not be published in the ACM digital library and on the CD. However, this has no impact on the presentation of the work during the workshops or on the publication of the work on the EvoDOP05 web page.

Furthermore, depending on the author's consent, all EvoDOP05 papers will be published online through the library of the University of Karlsruhe (Germany). Authors retain the copyright of their work if it is not transferred to the ACM.
