Below the detailed numbers of a duck count in the Coastal area of Kasumiga-ura from Sakura-gawa to Hanamuro-gawa on Friday, January 15, 1999. as counted by Mathias Jaschhof, Fer-Jan de Vries, Kenji Numaguchi and Hiroshi Ikenaga. The total number of ducks counted this year is considerably lower than that of last year. The count last year took place after a cold period with many frozen waters.
The weather: cold and overcast; close to freezing; some wind.

P.S. We saw three Baikal Teal (2 male and one female) and one female smew at Shishitsuka-o-ike after the excellent Kagoshima-ramen lunch.
